“Variation on a Variation of a Mode” – a new flash at fwriction : review

I’ve always been fascinated with the films of Michelangelo Antonioni – specifically his amazing Blow-up (1966), based on a short story “Las babas del Diablo” by Julio Cortázar. A master of novel, short fiction, and flash, Cortázar’s works move – at times simultaneously – between first, second and third person. He’s not an easy read … but … he’s a rewarding read. Yes.

My story “Variation on a Variation of a Mode” – an experimental flash – connects Cortázar’s story with Antonioni’s film and a reader/viewer … with “Stroll On” by The Yardbirds as soundtrack. The piece was published in a special issue of fwriction : review – Fictionaut Six –devoted to Fictionaut writers.
