Janet Frame, interviewed, part 1

I’m constantly being asked about details of my childhood – give a brief sketch of your early childhood, and so on. And also, certain people have actually written in book form, more or less, what purported to be a story of my life without even consulting me. But it is the desire really to make myself a first person. For many years I was a third person…. as children are: they, she.”

Children are forever they until they grow up.

I just write, and that is my telling.

This is my say.
