“Do or do not. There is not try” …

So far, I’ve videoed 31 separate scenes that I’m including in my Dad’s family portrait. That’s amazing since his health is so fragile now. That doesn’t include alternate or additional takes.

I can’t formulate the words to say how much this documentary project has meant to me. And I hope has meant to him. My great regret – and I’ve always wanted to avoid those – is that I didn’t do this years ago. But I was in a different place – as was he. Equipment was not readily available to me then as it is now. And so on.

As a great philosopher once said – “Do or do not. There is no try.”

  1. Very beautiful, Sam.

  2. So touching to hear you are making a documentary about your father!

Your dad and the rest of the family will be able to enjoy the film for years.

Photos and films are such good memory bearers.

  3. Thanks, Bobbi and Berit. It’s an amazing journey for me.
